The Global Senior Leadership Symposium allows for a group of three members from the same institution to collaborate with a diverse global network of peers, explore international strategies, and discuss the role of education abroad and global mobility within higher education.

Virtual Symposium
December 16, 2021
10:00 – 17:00 EST/UTC-05:00

A select applicant group of triads will be invited to attend this complementary event and will receive full access to the content from the 2021 Nobel Week Dialogue around the theme of “The City of the Future”. This event has been designed to allow participants to hear from Nobel Laureates and education thought leaders while collaborating with other institutional groups from around the world.

In-person
Optional & by Invitation
December 7 – 11, 2021
Gothenburg, Sweden.

Up to 10 individuals from different institutions will be invited to attend the in-person Global Senior Leadership Symposium, including the Nobel Dialogue on December 9, 2021. To be considered for this in-person experience, each institutional triad must indicate who in their group application would like to be considered to travel to Sweden and attend the 5-day event. Only one individual per institution can be nominated.

In addition to attending the Nobel Dialogue event where numerous Nobel laureates are expected to present in person, this group will also be invited to a facilitated discussion with leaders of the Nobel Prize Museum. They will also have an opportunity to interact with the students of the Nobel Week Dialogue: An EF & Forum Scholarship Program.

If a member of the team is invited to participate in the in-person Nobel Dialogue, they will be expected to arrive in Stockholm on December 7, 2021 and attend the program until its conclusion on December 11, 2021. EF is pleased to offset the cost of the in-person version of the program to selected applicants via a $500 scholarship which will go towards hotel accommodations; individuals selected would therefore be responsible for the remaining amount including:

  • Airfare to and from Sweden (booked and paid for by the participant)
  • Symposium fee includes: some meals, in-program transportation/trains, attendance at the Nobel Week Dialogues, and guided activities (symposium fee: $920, paid to and booked by EF)

This component of the event is subject to possible travel and health-related restrictions imposed by the Swedish or U.S. governments.
