When does the EMEA and CIGL conference start and end?

  • 3 Day Virtual Open Forum will start on September 22, September 29 and October 13th at 2 PM CEST.
  • CIGL starts on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 9 AM CEST and will end on Tuesday, October 18th at 5 PM CEST.
  • EMEA starts on October 19 – 21st.

Attendees who register for either CIGL or EMEA will receive full access to both on-site AND virtual programming. Please refer to the schedule here.

Where is the CIGL and EMEA going to be held?

CIGL will be held at the Nhow Hotel Milano
Via Tortona, 35, 20144 Milano MI, Italy

EMEA is hosted at Universita del Sacro Cuore
Largo Agostino Gemelli, 1, 20123 Milano MI, Italy

Is there a discounted rate for the hotel?

Please see our list of recommended hotels near the event location here.  There is no room block for the EMEA or CIGL.

How does transportation work?

There are several transportation services available from Malpensa or Linate airport to your event location but if you would like to use public transportation, see instructions below:

From the Linate Airport

Taxi: It’s a 48 minutes trip and is estimated to be around 35€.
Public transport lines for CIGL: Take bus no. 73 (Aeroporto-San Babila) for 15 stops, get off at the Largo Augusto stop and take bus no. 94 (P.ta Volta-Minghetti) for 8 stops, get off at Resistenza Partigiana Square. Then take bus no. 14 (Cim. Maggiore-Lorenteggio) for 5 stops, get off at the Via Solari-Via Stendhal stop and continue straight for 400 meters. It´s a 1H 15 minutes trip and is estimated price is 1.50€.

Public transport lines for EMEA: Take bus no. 73 (Aeroporto-San Babila) for 15 stops, get off at the Largo Augusto stop and take bus no. 94 (P.ta Volta-Minghetti) for 11 stops, get off at Via Carducci Via Mellerio and its a 3 minute walk to Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.  It´s a 1H 12 minutes trip and is estimated to be around 1.50€.

From the Malpensa Airport
Taxi: It’s a 1H 30 minutes trip and is estimated to be around 95€.
Public transport lines for CIGL:
Take the express train from Malpensa to Cadorna Station, then take the underground Metro 2 (green line) toward Abbiategrasso/Assago Forum for 3 stops, get off at Porta Genova. You can find the hotel 900 metres away (Need cross the footbridge to arrive at Via Tortona). It’s a 1H 30 minutes trip and is estimated to be around 13€ + 1.50€.

Public transport lines for EMEA: Take the express train from Malpensa to Cadorna Station, then it is a 10 minute walk to Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. It’s a 48 minutes trip and is estimated to be around 13€
Aerobus shuttle: Departs every 20 minutes with an estimated cost of € 10. Take the MalpensaShuttle to Central Station, then take the underground Metro 2 (green line) toward Abbiategrasso/Assago Forum for 8 stops, get off at Porta Genova. You can find the hotel 900 metres away (Need cross the footbridge to arrive at Via Tortona).

Can I leave my luggage or coat at the Registration desk during the event?

The Forum will not be able to store luggage or keep your coats behind the Forum registration desk. Please ask your respective hotels if they’re able to store your luggage for you.

Because of COVID-19, what safety precautions should I expect?

All participants are recommended to be fully vaccinated before attending the annual conference. Attendees are also recommended to wear an FFP2/KN95 masks while participating in all conference sessions and activities. We will continue to monitor the country, local and venue requirements and update our website. Please refer to our health and safety page to read more about our guidelines.

Can I cancel or transfer my registration if I can’t attend?

You can only transfer your registration to another person who works in the same university/institution. Please see our cancellation and refund policy here.

It is important to note that the Forum does not assume responsibility for any additional costs, charges, or expenses; to include, charges made for travel and lodging.

Will food be included in my registration fee?

CIGL: Lunch will be provided on Monday and Tuesday with coffee breaks and light reception food on Monday night.
EMEA: Lunch will be provided on Thursday and Friday with coffee breaks and light reception food on Wednesday night.

What should I wear?

The recommended conference attire is business casual. Because convention facilities can be cool, do remember to bring a sweater or a light jacket.
