WELCOME TO THE CIGL CONFERENCE
Career-Integrated Global Learning Conference
October 17-19, 2022
Nhow Milan Hotel
“Milan is a true metropolis: strong and fearless but welcoming, too. Little by little, I came to realize that I could become someone here.”
– Giorgio Armani
A hub of fashion and finance, Milan has a long history of welcoming visitors, students, and professionals from throughout Italy and across the globe. The city provides the setting and inspiration for the Forum on Education Abroad’s inaugural conference focused on preparing future professionals through internships and career-integrated global learning.
Internships and career-integrated global learning are among the fastest growing areas of education abroad, allowing students to access high impact international experiences with immersive engagement in the local community. Ranging from individual placements or industry-based projects to pre-program research or re-entry workshops to MNC site visits or NGO case studies, the opportunities to explore how current education applies to future professions are vast. And the challenges are real.
What will the world of work look like for future professionals? Which skills and knowledge will be most applicable? How can these be enhanced through global learning?
This conference, held at the beginning of ForumEA Week in Milan, will encourage discussion and debate, incorporating insights from the host region and inspiration from participants. Innovative ideas and lingering questions are welcome!
