The International Relations Department of Charles University is delighted to welcome participants of The Forum on Education Abroad’s European Conference to a preconference Campus Visit.

After presentations of Charles University by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Mobility Professor Jan Skrha and the Vice-Rector for Education Professor Milena Kralickova, presentations of some of our faculties’ representatives will follow. We will offer you a light lunch and a guided tour of the Carolinum historic premises. We also invite you to choose one faculty for an afternoon trip (see the registration form, transportation will be arranged).

Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts Tour

We would like to show you our school in its full operation during the winter semester. Please come and join us to see its unique spaces in the historical centre of Prague, get acquainted with our Degree Programmes system involving close cooperation among the students of various fields. You will see the school full of life at the start of the semester and you will have a chance to sneak peek into some lectures or the school theatre DISK rehearsal. Campus Tour- University of Pardubice (UPa)

As part of The Forum’s 4th European conference, the University of Pardubice takes this opportunity to offer you a tour of our campus, new equipment and infrastructure, as well as a visit to the historic centre of the city.

In order to offer you a fruitful and enjoyable stay, the Vice Rector for Internal Affairs will be delighted to welcome you in the historical building and introduce to you the University of Pardubice.

As you will be already in the city centre, a tour of the renaissance houses and the Chateau is not to be missed. That´s why the Office of International Affairs will give you the opportunity to walk around before taking you to the campus for a light lunch.

There, the Faculties of Chemical Technology, Economics and Administration and Transport Engineering will take over offering you a tour of their facilities and laboratories.

Located in the heart of the East Bohemia Region, in the lowlands of the Rivers Labe and Chrudimka,  the University of Pardubice can offer a peaceful and relaxing environment just 50 minutes away from Prague, so we hope to welcome many of you!

Pre-conference Campus Visit of the Czech Technical University in Prague

Time: 2 pm – 3:30 pm
Location: Czech Technical University in Prague, Jugoslávských partyzánů 3, Prague 6, Penthouse Conference Room (10th floor)

The CTU International Office is happy to welcome participants of The Forum on Education Abroad to a pre-conference campus visit of the Czech Republic’s largest technical university.

The 90-minute tour of the main CTU campus begins at the Penthouse Conference Room situated on the 10th floor of the brand new CTU rectorate´s building, featuring a magnificent and unique view of Prague Castle. After some coffee and a short presentation about CTU we will begin the campus walk. First we will visit the electrical engineering and mechanical engineering buildings where the CTU Formula Student electric-engine and petrol-engine cars are on display. Next for a guided tour of the Laboratory of Biomechanics featuring the current research on additive manufacturing for medicine and experimental testing on joint replacements and implants. Finally we will proceed to the National Library of Technology which forms the core of the CTU Dejvice campus. The library, opened in 2009, is considered to be the finest example of modern architecture in Prague, though not well-known to tourists. The reading room is particularly striking.

Palacký University Olomouc Campus Tour

Location: Olomouc

The USA and the Origins of Czechoslovakia Presentation

Time: 7:00 pm

The presentation will focus on the role of the United States in the process of the founding of Czechoslovakia in the year 1918. It will explore both the political support for the Czechoslovak resistance movement abroad from the part of American political representation, and the role of Czech and Slovak fellow countrymen in the USA. This lecture will also discuss the attitude of the USA towards the Czechoslovak problem on the Paris peace conference, ending with the role and limits of Czechoslovak relations in the making of the Czechoslovak democracy of the interwar period. This lecture is held in conjunction with the Charles University Univerzita a Republika event, which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic. The reception will follow immediately after the lecture.

New York University Reception – Celebrate 20 years of NYU Prague
