MenuDr. Svetlana Olbina is an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction Management at CSU where she teaches undergraduate and graduate classes related to sustainable design and construction, graphic communications for construction, and construction materials and methods. She has been conducting research on sustainable building technologies, environmental control systems, building information modeling (BIM), Virtual and Mixed Reality, and safety in construction. Svetlana’s sustainability-related research falls into the area of indoor environmental quality with an emphasis on daylighting and thermal performance of buildings. Specifically, she has been investigating design, construction and performance analysis of the building envelopes with the focus on performance of shading devices. In addition, Svetlana has experience in simulation for thermal and daylighting modeling of buildings. In that context, she explores integration of sustainability analysis tools and BIM.
