MenuNicholas H. Ruth was born in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Pomona College, in Claremont, CA, where he received a BA in Studio Art. He completed an MFA in Painting at the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.
Professor Ruth has been teaching at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY, since 1995. He teaches all levels of painting and drawing and has taught semesters abroad in both Rome, Italy, and Galway, Ireland.
An active artist, Professor Ruth has exhibited regionally, nationally, and internationally. His work has been featured in over 50 solo and group exhibitions in the last ten years. He has received recognition for his work from the Saltonstall Foundation, The New York State Council on the Arts, and the Dallas Museum of Art.
