MenuDr. James Atlas is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Delaware. He received his B.A. in Computer Science from Messiah College in 2001 and his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science at the University of Delaware in 2006 and 2009, respectively. He is a committed educator who emphasizes active and engaged learning including self-reflection, pair programming, peer critique, kinesthetic activities, outreach experiences, and problem based learning. He holds a full-time teaching track position, teaching a wide range of courses from introductory programming to computer architecture, and is a 2012 winner of the University’s Excellence in Teaching Award. He recently worked with Dr. Tim Bell (creator of CSUnplugged) for a year at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch implementing Computer Science in primary schools and updating the Computer Science Field Guide for high school teachers.
