MenuI grew up in London and moved to the US in 1987 after completing my Ph.D. in Zoology at the University of
Edinburgh in Scotland. After a post-doc at UNC Chapel Hill I took as position in the Biology Department at Susquehanna University in 1993. By 1998, I was involved in developing short-term study away programs to Australia and have to date, led 12 such summer programs. In 2013, I developed and led the first of the Sherpa Life and Culture programs that revolves around a two-week trek to the base camp at Mount Everest. To date, I have made five visits to Nepal and have several more in the planning stages. I live in the country in central PA with my wife and various dogs, cats and chickens.
