Describe how the Self-Study and Peer Review process were valuable to your organization.

It involved a good number of individuals, faculty and administrators in many different campus offices with whom we interact on almost a daily basis. It helped them to understand better – and also appreciate – what it is that we do in making education abroad an integral component of the undergraduate academic experience of our students.

Share an example of a best practice at your organization that was recognized during your QUIP Review, or that was developed as a result of your QUIP Review.

The year of our review coincided with the growth in the interest for faculty-led short-term programs. The Standards helped us put in place a formal review process for such proposals with our International Program Advisory Committee, with curricular integration one of the key variables we look for when approving a program.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience with the QUIP Program?

The QUIP process, from the Self-Study to the Site Visit is intense – make no mistake. While we successfully completed the QUIP, we also identified, at the same time, ways in which we could be better. In that sense, the QUIP is a continuous never-ending quest to improve and meet the Standards in a deeper, more thorough way.
