This workshop focuses on integrating the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals into the development and delivery of faculty-led education abroad programs. Guided by exercises and informed by active discussion, participants will design effective strategies for addressing the global challenges of realizing a more sustainable future for all.
- Understand the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals and their connections to various aspects of education abroad.
- Be able to use the sustainability-related Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad and related guidelines to guide decision-making around education abroad.
- Propose specific ways of integrating the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals into new or existing faculty-led education abroad programs.
- Share resources for enhancing sustainability in program content, execution, and in support of institutional planning.

How You’ll Benefit
This workshop will aid education abroad professionals and faculty members in the thoughtful integration of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals into education abroad programs. Content is tailored to those who are familiar with the SDGs, but lack significant experience in applying them to program logistics, operations, or curriculum. Specific attention will be focused on short-term faculty-led programs in this dynamic workshop.
