About the Workshop

This workshop will provide you with a better understanding of the U.S. context around issues of equity, diversity and inclusion for students participating in education abroad programs.

Learning outcomes include:

•  Better understanding of the experience and expectations of U.S. students from diverse background.
•  Familiarity with the 6th edition of the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad
•  Ability to operationalize the concepts of equity, diversity, inclusion and access


Who Should Attend This Workshop?

Local program administrators, faculty, housing coordinators, resident directors, and anyone who interacts with U.S. students during their study abroad experience will benefit from participating in this workshop.


How You’ll Benefit

During this workshop, you’ll discuss strategies for how to meet the needs of students from diverse backgrounds and how the Standards of Good Practice can be used as a roadmap to meet these needs.

Following the popular and insightful When We Do See Color: Ending Global Racism webinar series, we welcome colleagues to demonstrate their active pursuit of anti-racist activities in their work. This digital badging program offers colleagues the opportunity to reflect on what they have learned throughout the conversation series and gives them access to a mini-consultation with an experienced justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion professional who can help them translate their learning into action.
