This new multi-day workshop series introduces institutions of higher education and non-profit organizations from Latin America to some of the major factors that must be considered when developing or expanding education abroad programs.

 


About the Workshop Series

This workshop series will help you prepare to welcome study abroad students to your campus for a semester or summer program. You will be able to talk with experts and colleagues across Latin America about ways to engage your campus in education abroad and how to create high-quality academic experiences.

All workshops will be offered in Spanish and are scheduled to take place from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. EST/UTC – 05:00.

Monday, November 15 During the first day of this workshop series you will be introduced to the Standards of Good Practice and the different education abroad models implemented by U.S. institutions.


Tuesday, November 16 Day two of the series will focus on experiential learning and best practices to design effective learning opportunities. Examples and case studies from a variety of academic disciplines will be analyzed.


Wednesday, November  17 Health, Safety and Well-Being is one of the most important components of an education abroad program. This workshop will cover best practices for how to collaborate with partners, students and families before, during and after a program.


Thursday, November 18 Planning an education abroad program for a post-pandemic world can be overwhelming. During this workshop we will discuss policies and procedures to keep in mind as you begin to prepare to welcome students.


 


Who Should Attend This Workshop?

This workshop is designed to address the needs of professionals involved in the design and management of study abroad programs at Latin American institutions.

Please note that this is a multi-day workshop series and all workshops will be offered in Spanish. The cost of registration includes registration for the entire series for one person. Registration for only part of the series is not a possibility and it cannot be shared among multiple people.
