About the series
The Standards of Good Practice identify reflection as central to high-quality education abroad. However, reflection, and particularly critical reflection, are often misunderstood. This three-part webinar series provides a solid introduction into the theory and practice of critical reflection and how it can be applied in education abroad programs. Participants will leave with evidence-based and practical strategies they can employ across all phases of education abroad programs.
Series Goals
- Outline key theories that outline the nature of reflection and its role in integrative, applied and experiential learning,
- Introduce models and design principles that support the effective integration of critical reflection to generate, deepen, and document learning in education abroad,
- Share illustrative examples of how critical reflection can be integrated into formal and informal contexts of learning,
- Introduce tools that educators can use to assess student learning through critical reflection.
