The people and institutions that welcome education abroad students to their communities are crucial to students’ learning, growth, and well-being. Thoughtful collaborations between them can lead to mutual benefits. On the other hand, unprepared staff or students and disrespectful behaviors can result in hard feelings, lost learning opportunities, and maybe even canceled programs.
In this webinar, presenters draw on their experiences around the globe to share tried-and-true techniques for developing strong relationships with the communities education abroad students travel to to learn and how to prepare students to develop healthy, respectful relationships with the people they meet during their programs. Presenters:
- Ted Samuel, Oberlin College
- Sian Morris, GVI World
- Zachary Nowak, International Studies Institutes
